Ghoda Masala

Goda masala is a special spice blend unique to Maharashtrian cuisine. the spices used here are aromatic spices and these lend a subtle sweet aroma without hints of pungency & heat.

Ingredients :-

  • Cardamons ā€“ 5 medium pieces.
  • Cinnamon Powder ā€“ 1/2 tea spoon.
  • Cloves ā€“ 5 nos.
  • Bay Leaves ā€“ 2 nos
  • White sesame (til) seeds ā€“ 2 tea spoon.
  • Coriander seeds ā€“ 2 teaspoon.
  • Flaked Coconut ā€“ 4 tea spoon.
  • Pepper corns ā€“ 10.
  • Cassia Buds (Unopened cinnamon flowers) ā€“ 1
  • Red Chilies ā€“ 3
  • Vegetable Oil ā€“ 1 table spoon.

Method :-

  • Heat oil in a non-stick/regular pan.
  • Put all the ingredients except coconut and coriander seed in oil.
  • Keep them aside.
  • Roast coconut and coriander seed separately without oil.
  • Transfer the ingredients into large jar of Cherie mixer blender.
  • Attached the grinding blade and grind to get a fine powder.
  • Store in an air tight container.
