Infrared Cooktop Cookware Guide: What to Check Before You Cook

In Weekly Blogs 0 comments

Choosing an infrared cooktop is only half the decision. The cookware you place on it and the way you set it up matter just as much. This guide focuses on the checks to make before your first meal, rather than promising that every utensil will work.

Do you need induction-specific cookware?

Not necessarily. The LA’ FORTE 2200W Infrared Cooktop heats using an infrared ceramic surface. Its listing specifies many flat-bottom, heat-safe cookware materials; it does not require an induction-compatible magnetic base.

That still does not mean every pan, glass bowl or serving dish is suitable. Follow the cookware manufacturer’s guidance for direct heat use.

A three-point cookware check

  1. Flat base: the pan should sit level and stable, without wobbling.
  2. Heat suitability: confirm the utensil is intended for this type of cooking heat. A glass dish marked for serving or oven use is not automatically safe on a cooktop.
  3. Practical fit: check the cooking-zone and pan dimensions in the supplied instructions. Keep handles and the pan stable.

Set up the cooktop properly

Use a suitable stable, heat-resistant surface with the clearances specified in the manual. Connect directly to a suitable grounded wall socket. The product guidance advises against a light-duty extension board. If you are unsure about the socket or installation, have it checked before use.

Understand the controls and included accessories

The LA’ FORTE model has a touch panel and rotary knob. Its pack includes a stainless-steel grill and two skewers, alongside the cooktop, attached cable and user/warranty guidance. Follow the supplied instructions for accessory placement and cooking; do not improvise setups that could slip or touch hot components.

2200W is the stated power rating, not a promise of identical consumption or cooking time for every recipe. Cooking time and energy use depend on the setting, pan and food.

Switching off does not mean it is cool

The ceramic surface can remain dangerously hot after switch-off. Treat it as hot until it has cooled completely. Keep children and loose objects away, and do not leave operating cookware or hot oil unattended.

Clean only after cooling

Follow the cleaning instructions supplied with the unit. Wait for complete cooling, disconnect power as directed and keep liquid away from electrical components. Do not immerse the cooktop.

Frequently asked questions

Will a non-magnetic pan work?

It may, if its base is flat, stable and rated for the cooking heat. Magnetism is not the deciding requirement for infrared heating.

Can I use any glass utensil?

No. Only consider cookware whose manufacturer explicitly confirms suitability for the relevant direct-heat use.

Can I touch the surface after switching off?

No. Wait until it has cooled completely.
