LA’ FORTE Home Solutions Private Limited (“LA’ FORTE”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates la-forte.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, when we share it and the choices available to you. We process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules and notifications brought into force under it.

1. Data we collect

  • Identity and contact data: name, phone number, email address, billing and delivery address.
  • Order and support data: products ordered, order and shipment status, warranty or service requests, returns, messages, and photographs or videos voluntarily submitted for support.
  • Transaction data: payment status, transaction reference and refund status. Payments are processed by authorised payment providers; we do not ask for or store your card PIN, CVV, UPI PIN or OTP.
  • Account and preference data: account details, saved preferences, marketing choices and newsletter subscriptions.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser or device information, cookies, pages viewed, referral source and interaction data used for security, analytics and site improvement.
  • Communications: emails, WhatsApp/SMS interactions, calls, reviews, feedback and other messages sent to us.

2. Why we use data

  • to process orders, payments, delivery, cancellations, replacements, refunds, warranty and customer support;
  • to authenticate users, prevent fraud, secure the website and enforce our terms;
  • to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection and other legal obligations;
  • to improve products, website experience, content and service quality;
  • to send transactional messages and, where consent or another lawful basis applies, offers and marketing communications;
  • to establish, exercise or defend legal claims and resolve disputes.

3. Cookies and analytics

We and our service providers use essential cookies for cart, checkout, security and account functions. With the choices made through our consent tools, we may also use analytics and advertising cookies. You can manage cookies through the website controls or your browser, although disabling essential cookies may affect checkout and account features.

4. When we share data

We share only the data reasonably required with service providers that help us operate the store, including Shopify, payment gateways, banks, logistics and courier partners, customer-support providers, communications providers, cloud hosting, fraud-prevention, analytics and marketing services. We may disclose data to professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where required by law, and during a genuine merger, acquisition or business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data as a standalone product.

5. Retention and security

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, warranty, legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution requirements. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards. No online system is completely risk-free, so customers should never share an OTP, card PIN, CVV or payment password with anyone.

6. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, opt out of marketing and raise a grievance. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully and may limit services that require the relevant data. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe option; for SMS or WhatsApp marketing, use the opt-out instruction in the message or contact us.

7. Children

Our store is intended for adults. A person under 18 should use the store only under the supervision of a parent or lawful guardian. We do not knowingly seek personal data from children for targeted advertising.

8. External links and cross-border processing

Third-party sites and services have their own privacy practices. Some service providers may process data outside India subject to applicable law and contractual or technical safeguards.

10. AI-assisted chat

We use Shopify to power AI-assisted chat on our online store. When you use the chat, Shopify processes your chat messages and relevant interaction, account, order and store information to generate responses, provide requested shopping or order support, help maintain safety and improve the quality of the Inbox agent over time. AI responses may be automated and should not be treated as approval of a refund, replacement, warranty claim, compensation or other remedy. Complex or sensitive issues can be directed to our support channel. Avoid sharing an OTP, password, UPI PIN, card PIN, CVV or full card number in chat.

We may update this policy to reflect legal, operational or service changes. The revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
